NEW DELHI: The campaign for domestic e-commerce giant
Flipkart and Walmart is underway Walmart, the world's leading online retailer,
has been keen to buy 51 per cent stake in Flipkart. It is expected that this
process will not begin in another two-three weeks. The deal is estimated to be
worth 80,000 crore rupees. If the deal comes into effect, it will have a
maximum of Rs. 20,000 crore.
The Japanese company Soft Bank Group, which owns 20 per cent
of Flipkart, is not interested in Wal-Mart offer. The company is thought to
have less than Rs 80,000 crore deal. However, Flipkart did not officially
respond to SoftBank. And Walmart
spokesman refused to comment on the news. With the arrival of Walmart, the
South African NASBARS, Axel, and the American Tiger Global Management Companies
are still planning to sell their entire stake in Flipkart.
